Dear friends, followers, and fellow seekers of beauty in the unseen,
As many of you have noticed, I’ve been absent from Instagram and my usual haunts for almost a year. The silence wasn’t planned, and it wasn’t easy. It was a time of introspection, personal growth, and, most importantly, rediscovery. Today, I’m finally ready to share the reasons behind my absence and the journey that has led me back—reborn, renewed, and more inspired than ever.
The Weight of the Unseen
Photography, especially the kind that delves into the shadows and uncovers the beauty in decay, has always been more than just a passion for me. It’s a way to communicate with the world, to share a perspective that often goes unnoticed. However, there comes a time when even the most passionate pursuits can become overwhelming. The weight of constantly seeking out the unseen, capturing the stories of those forgotten by time, began to take its toll.
I found myself in a place where the very work that once fueled my soul started to drain it. The expectations—both from myself and others—grew heavy, and I began to lose sight of why I started this journey in the first place. I knew that in order to continue, I needed to step away, to find silence, and to confront the shadows within myself.
The Silence and the Storm
Stepping away wasn’t easy. It felt like abandoning a part of myself, and I know it must have felt the same for many of you who have followed my work. But in that silence, I found something I didn’t expect—clarity.
I took the time to reconnect with the core of what drives me. I wandered through cemeteries without my camera, simply observing, feeling the weight of the histories that lingered there. I spent time away from the lens, allowing myself to experience the world as it is, without the filter of photography. In doing so, I began to see things differently—not just the world around me, but also my place within it.
During this time, I realized that I had been so focused on capturing the beauty in the unseen that I had overlooked something crucial: the need to nurture and renew my own spirit. The silence, while difficult, became a storm that washed away the clutter and confusion, leaving behind a clearer, more focused version of myself.
Rebirth: A New Perspective
Now, after nearly a year, I return to you not as the same person who left, but as someone reborn. The time away allowed me to grow, to rediscover my passion, and to approach my work with a fresh perspective. I’ve come to understand that stepping away was necessary to reconnect with the very essence of what I do.
This rebirth isn’t just about returning to photography; it’s about evolving in my craft, in my approach, and in the stories I want to tell. I’m back, but with a deeper understanding of the balance between creation and reflection, between capturing the unseen and being present in the moment.
What to Expect Moving Forward
I’m excited to share this new chapter with all of you. My work will continue to explore the themes of decay, beauty, and the haunting elegance of overlooked moments, but with a renewed energy and a refined focus. You’ll see new projects that push the boundaries of what I’ve done before, and I’ll be sharing more of the process behind my work—something I’ve often kept in the shadows.
I also want to reconnect with all of you, my loyal followers, who have been so patient and supportive during my absence. Your messages, comments, and continued interest have meant the world to me, even when I couldn’t find the words to respond. Let’s engage, share ideas, and continue to find beauty in the silent details together.
Thank You
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your support. It’s because of you that this rebirth is possible. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead and to creating something truly meaningful together.
Stay tuned for new content, behind-the-scenes looks, and, most importantly, the continuation of our shared exploration into the unseen.
With renewed passion and gratitude,
Mr. Cemetery
